For two decades, Joint Memorial Day Ceremony has brought Israelis and Palestinians together in shared grief and shared hope. We continue to stand together — mourning side by side, calling for a future of peace, safety, and freedom for all. Organised by the Parents Circle - Families Forum and Combatants for Peace, the ceremony is the largest Israeli-Palestinian peace event in history. For years, the ceremony has transformed narratives, challenging cycles of violence and reminding the world that reconciliation is within reach.

This year’s Memorial Day Ceremony, streamed to tens of thousands globally, offered a deeply moving reminder of shared grief and hope. Despite logistical hurdles, the ceremony featured testimonials, heartfelt candle-lighting, and an unwavering call for peace. It included many newly bereaved members, and honored the children of both sides.

Translation: This was a mistake, but I swore to fix it.

We share a contested past, full of cruelty. We share an overly holy land, soaked with our blood. If we’re to share a future of hope, we must also share our beautiful languages—languages that, like us, are cousins. - Israeli guest speaker, Yaniv Aknin

The ceremony ended with a heartfelt live oud performance and a moment of remembrance for all innocent lives lost.
